Senior Debtors Manager

A well-established national retail organisation is seeking to appoint an experienced Senior Debtors Manager to lead and manage its credit risk, collections, and receivables function.

This role is critical in optimising cash flow, minimising financial risk, and ensuring compliance with internal controls, credit policies, and relevant legislation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage overall credit risk exposure across the division
  • Lead credit assessments for new and existing customers
  • Implement and manage effective collection strategies for overdue accounts
  • Negotiate and manage payment arrangements with customers experiencing financial difficulty
  • Manage securities registers, bond perfections, and liquidations
  • Engage and instruct attorneys on legal and high-risk accounts
  • Ensure compliance with the FIC Act, National Credit Act, and related regulations
  • Lead and manage the accounts receivable team
  • Attend and drive outcomes of weekly credit meetings
  • Provide accurate reporting, insights, and strategic recommendations
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Minimum Requirements
  • Relevant Accounting qualification and Credit Management certification
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior accounts receivable or credit management role
  • Strong working knowledge of credit and insolvency legislation
