Job description

KOCH Solutions Africa is seeking an experienced Sales Manager to drive business development and sales activities across the African region. The role requires a strong technical understanding of bulk materials handling and mining, combined with proven commercial and negotiation skills in complex project environments.

  • Develop and implement the sales and business development strategy for the African region.
  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities within the bulk materials handling, mining, and heavy industry sectors.
  • Maintain and grow relationships with existing clients, partners, and key stakeholders.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation through tendering, negotiation, and contract award.
  • Work closely with engineering, proposals, and project teams to develop technically and commercially viable solutions.
  • Support the preparation and review of commercial proposals, budgets, and contract terms.
  • Conduct market and competitor analysis and provide regular sales forecasts and reports to management.
  • Travel extensively within the African region to support clients and develop projects.
Your profile
  • Degree in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in technical or project-based sales, preferably within bulk materials handling, mining, or heavy industrial sectors.
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully selling capital equipment and engineered solutions.
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand and communicate complex engineering concepts.
  • Experience working in international and multicultural business environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional languages are advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel extensively; valid driver’s license required.
