Job summary

A leading supplier in the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) industry is seeking an experienced Sales Executive for the Gauteng region. The role involves generating sales through new and existing businesses, achieving sales targets, and managing client relationships. Candidates must have Matric with Mathematics or Business Economics, a tertiary qualification in Sales and Marketing is preferred, and at least 3 years of successful sales experience. Proficiency in Microsoft tools is a must, along with strong communication and negotiation skills.

Overview

Our client, a leading supplier in the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) industry, is seeking an experienced and motivated Sales Executive to manage and grow sales across the Gauteng region.

Responsibilities
  • Generate sales from new and existing businesses: conduct in-depth market research, analyse decision‑makers, execute strategic plans for targeted accounts, perform PPE assessments, and maintain an average of six customer meetings per day.
  • Achieve monthly and annual sales targets: meet or exceed agreed budgets, track performance, submit accurate weekly and monthly reports, and carry forward shortfalls to ensure annual targets are met.
  • Client relationship management and service delivery: provide product and safety training, ensure quick turnaround of quotes, monitor order delivery, resolve client queries and complaints, and maintain an up‑to‑date customer database.
  • Brand and market development: grow market share in underdeveloped industries, promote and introduce the brand and full PPE product portfolio, and support retail and hardware store expansion through product education and merchandising support.
  • Internal and external training: attend all internal product and sales training sessions, participate in supplier‑led training, and stay updated with internal processes and reporting tools.
  • Strategic contribution: identify new business opportunities, product gaps, and industry trends, contribute to business development initiatives, and assist with onboarding and mentoring of new sales representatives as needed.
Qualifications
  • Matric / Grade 12 with Mathematics or Business Economics (Essential)
  • Tertiary qualification or diploma in Sales and Marketing (Preferred)
  • Occupational Health & Safety‑related courses (Advantageous)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Minimum 3 years of successful sales experience
  • Experience in PPE or industrial supplies sector (Advantageous)
