Job summary

Candidates should have a National Senior Certificate, a minimum of 2 years sales experience, and strong communication skills. Salary: R12500 Basic Salary + Commission + Allowances and Contribution to Medical Aid/Provident Fund
Hybrid or In-office: Field-based role (includes working every second Saturday)

About the Role

The Sales Consultant will be responsible for promoting and selling merchandise, sample books and partnership programmes within an allocated territory. The role focuses on meeting sales targets, developing new business opportunities and maintaining strong relationships with existing customers while working closely with internal teams.

Requirements and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve agreed sales targets through effective territory and customer management
  • Visit customers according to a structured contact plan
  • Identify customer needs and provide professional advice on product selection, pricing and care
  • Promote and sell product ranges, new launches, specials and promotions
  • Take orders and liaise with internal sales administration teams
  • Manage back-orders, queries and complaints promptly and professionally
  • Support payment collection and resolve account-related queries
  • Develop new business opportunities and grow the client base
  • Attend industry exhibitions, workshops and sales meetings
  • Maintain accurate records, weekly call reports and sales activity reports
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and brand standards

Minimum Requirements:

  • National Senior Certificate
  • Certificate or Diploma in Sales and Marketing (advantageous)
  • Minimum of 2 years’ sales experience (retail or wholesale preferred)
  • Exposure to an interior design or décor environment (advantageous)
  • Valid Code B driver’s licence
  • Fluency in English and one other South African language (area dependent)
