A research institution in Pretoria is looking for an Agricultural Economist to conduct economic analyses related to Agroecology. Responsibilities include developing enterprise budgets, conducting socio-economic research, and publishing articles on Agroecology economics. Candidates should have an Honours degree in Agricultural Economics, analytical skills, and 1-3 years of experience in agricultural research. This position offers a competitive remuneration package. Conduct of Economic analysis including economic viability and economic feasibility of Agroecology farming systems.
Development of Enterprise budgets for Agroecology projects including research experiments and trials.
Conduct Socio-Economic research on Agroecology and climate‑change related topics.
Development of viable farm‑designs towards resource optimisation.
Publish popular and scientific articles related to the economics of Agroecology.
Provide administrative support to Senior Agricultural Economist relating to Agroecology projects.
A competitive remuneration package will be congruent with the scope responsibilities and the stature of the position. The appointment will be subject to a positive security clearance (as well as competency and leadership assessments).
