Job summary

A leading educational institution is seeking a Rental Agent for a permanent role based in East London, Eastern Cape. The successful applicant will be responsible for canvassing, marketing, viewing properties, vetting tenants, and managing lease documents. Candidates should be numerically strong with good accounting skills; previous rental experience is preferred. Commission-based salary is offered.

Qualifications

  • Candidate must be numerically strong and have good accounting/maths ability.
  • Previous rental experience would be ideal.

Responsibilities

  • Canvassing for new residential and commercial rental properties.
  • Listing and marketing of residential and commercial rental properties.
  • Conducting viewings at available properties.
  • Vetting prospective tenants.
  • Tenanting available properties.
  • Performing inspections.
  • Loading of invoices.
  • Running billing and payments.
  • Arranging maintenance for properties.
  • Completing documentation between parties.
  • Collection of rentals and managing defaulting tenants.
  • Facilitation of deposit refunds.
  • General lease facilitation.

Overview

We are seeking a Rental Agent for a permanent role based in East London, Eastern Cape

The successful applicant would be responsible for, but not limited to:

Responsibilities
  • Canvassing for new residential and commercial rental properties
  • Listing and marketing of residential and commercial rental properties
  • Conducting viewings at available properties
  • Vetting prospective tenants
  • Tenanting available properties
  • Performing ingoing, interim, ad hoc and outgoing inspections
  • Loading of tenant and landlord invoices
  • Running the billing and payments for all tenanted properties
  • Arranging maintenance for properties
  • Completing all required documentation between parties, eg. Leases, mandates, disclosure forms, addendums, renewals, cancellations etc
  • Collection of rentals and arrears and managing defaulting tenants including letters of demand
  • Facilitation of deposit refunds
  • General – facilitating all aspects of the lease between landlord and tenant
Qualifications
  • Candidate must be numerically strong and have good accounting / maths ability
  • Previous rental experience would be ideal

Salary: Commission based
