Our client is a global fintech operating in the channel finance space, supporting technology vendors, resellers, and funding partners across more than 40 countries. The business operates internationally, with senior leadership and operational teams across EMEA, the USA, and APJ, and deep expertise spanning finance, banking, IT, credit, and risk management.
The Stellenbosch-based role forms part of the wider EMEA operation, working closely with international stakeholders on the origination, execution, and ongoing management of channel finance programmes.
Role Overview
The Relationship Manager will be responsible for the implementation, day-to-day management, and ongoing success of channel finance programmes for clients across the EMEA region.
This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role combining:
- Client relationship management
- Credit and compliance oversight
- Programme and operational management
You will work closely with internal teams including Capital Markets, Legal, Treasury, Finance, and IT, and will be expected to take ownership of programme performance, risk management, and client satisfaction.
The role reports into a Switzerland-based executive (COO – EMEA & APJ) and suits a self-driven professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced, international fintech environment.
Key Responsibilities
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, building strong, long-term relationships that support retention and programme growth
- Lead and coordinate communication with resellers, vendors, and funding partners across both new and existing programmes
Programme & Transaction Management
- Support the evaluation and execution of new transactions within the portfolio
- Manage and oversee the end-to-end operational lifecycle of programmes, including:
- Fundings and repayments
- Credit limit reviews and increases
- Disputes and late payments
- Day-to-day operational queries
Credit, Risk & Compliance
- Take lead responsibility for credit and compliance reviews (trendcards) across new and existing portfolios
- Analyse and assess:
- Financial performance and leverage
- Cash flows and repayment sources
- Key risk indicators and risk ratings
- Management quality and operational risk
- Ensure all work aligns with internal policies, procedures, and compliance standards, remaining up to date with any changes
Professional Development
- Participate in scheduled training and professional development initiatives
- Continuously build knowledge across channel finance, credit, and programme management
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- Relevant university degree (Economics, Finance, or similar)
- Working knowledge of channel finance (or closely related areas such as trade finance, asset finance, or structured finance)
- Minimum 1 year experience in credit analysis and/or underwriting
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in programme or project management, including:
- KPI tracking
- Milestones and delivery oversight
- Cross-functional stakeholder coordination
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Proven ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Fluent English (additional languages advantageous but not essential)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, both client-facing and internal
