Overview

We are looking for a Reinsurance Accountant to join our dynamic team, where you will have the opportunity to apply your skills in a multicultural and evolving setting. You will provide reinsurance accounting and claims handling services to Munich Re clients and support accounting operations within the unit. This requires efficient management of a reinsurance accounting and claims portfolio.

Your Role
  • Create contracts and maintain treaty and facultative master data
  • Verify reinsurance statements of account from our clients based on the terms and conditions of the wording and by checking specific calculations
  • Process the statements of account in our SAP FS-RI systems, including the use of automation tools
  • Claims creation and processing for treaty and facultative business
  • Ensure data quality and perform quality checks at contract level
  • Performing credit control activities (balance confirmation, dunning, reconciliation of accounts and attending to payments) to ensure that the portfolio is kept current
  • Regular client interactions to strengthen our partnerships, driving an efficient, and client-centric culture
  • Cooperation and collaboration with the Departments (Underwriters, Client Managers, Facultative Underwriting Assistants) and the Reinsurance Accounting International Organization
  • Present reinsurance and accounting matters to stakeholders
  • Participate in challenging projects and working groups globally if applicable
Your profile
  • Degree in finance, accounting, risk management, insurance or economics
  • At least 3 years’ experience in Reinsurance Accounting, and Claims Handling
  • Analytical skills and accuracy in dealing with figures
  • Self-confident approach combined with a high degree of dedication to working effectively and independently, willing to face new responsibilities
  • High degree of intercultural competence and team spirit
  • Professional working proficiency in English
