Job Description

Position: 12-month contract

Location: CANSA Pretoria office

The role focuses on delivering clinical support and health screenings, particularly corporate wellness initiatives, while also serving clinics, care centres, community sites, and private healthcare settings.

Responsibilities include coordinating Home-Based Care services, driving stakeholder engagement, marketing, networking, health promotion campaigns, and identifying income generation opportunities to support programme sustainability.

Responsibilities
  • Community Engagement & Relationship Building
    • Utilise community structures to implement projects and events
    • Promote CANSA’s national health programmes in line with organisational standards
    • Network with key community stakeholders and role players to strengthen programme delivery
    • Organise and support health screening events, ensuring alignment with CANSA benchmarks
    • Continuously evaluate and improve outreach activities in line with CANSA’s best practice model
    • Drive public awareness while upholding CANSA’s brand and reputation
  • Cancer Control & Clinical Support
    • Coordinate and deliver Home-Based Care (HBC) services, including facilitating referral systems and ensuring appropriate follow-up and patient support
    • Establish and maintain agreements with local service providers and organisations
    • Support volunteers and stakeholders to ensure quality patient care and community outreach
    • Administer patient and volunteer surveys to assess service delivery
    • Deliver clinical support and screenings with emphasis on corporate wellness initiatives and community health settings
  • Administrative Duties
    • Accurately complete and maintain documentation using prescribed forms
    • Submit monthly statistics and reports as per CANSA’s audit and compliance protocols
    • Ensure timely and accurate data entry across relevant programme systems
    • Compile accurate and timely weekly and monthly reports
  • Programme & Performance Delivery
    • Drive stakeholder engagement, marketing, and networking to strengthen programme reach and impact
    • Educate target audiences and implement health promotion campaigns aligned with CANSA’s national health calendar
    • Identify and develop opportunities for income generation to support programme sustainability
Qualifications And Requirements
Essential Qualifications & Experience
  • Qualified Registered Nurse with proof of qualification Paid-up member of the South African Nursing Council (SANC)
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • At least 2–3 traceable references on application/resume
Skills & Competencies
  • High-level patient service and professionalism
  • Strong time management, organisational, and administrative skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and internet-based applications
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; bilingual in English and Afrikaans, with additional official languages advantageous
  • Confident in public speaking, presentations, facilitation, report writing, and proposal development
  • Resilient and able to perform in a structured and target-driven environment
  • Professional attitude and appearance
