Job summary

A leading Testing and Certification Company in South Africa is seeking a Radiation Protection Officer to oversee safety compliance and manage radiation hazards. Applicants should possess a Matric certificate and a Radiation Protection Officer Certificate. Experience in management and advanced Microsoft skills are preferred. The role involves regular inspections, safety training, and liaising with various stakeholders to ensure adherence to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• 5 years administrative experience required.
• 5 years relevant management experience preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft software.
• Experience in document and report writing.
• Knowledge of applicable legislations (NNR).
• Experience in systems and legal auditing.
• Strong personnel and communication skills.
• Leadership and team role-playing skills.
• Investigation and risk assessing skills.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Driver's license and own transport required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Radiation Protection Officer.
• Conduct radiation surveys and hazard assessments.
• Implement and maintain the Radiation Protection Programme.
• Maintain storage and decontamination facilities.
• Liaise with management on radiation safety.
• Conduct inspections as per schedule.
• Ensure adherence to safety requirements.
