Job Title: Quality Controller (Engineering – CMM) – Contract

Location: Germiston, Gauteng
Employment Type: Contract

Job Purpose

An Engineering company is seeking an experienced Quality Controller on a contract basis to ensure that engineering components and products meet required quality standards, specifications, and customer requirements. The role requires strong hands-on experience operating CMM machines within an engineering/manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct dimensional and visual inspections on engineering components and assemblies

  • Operate and utilize Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to verify product conformance

  • Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications

  • Accurately record, analyse, and report inspection results

  • Identify non-conformances and support corrective actions

  • Ensure adherence to ISO standards and internal quality procedures

  • Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections

  • Liaise with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve quality issues

  • Maintain inspection, quality, and calibration records

  • Support internal and external audits as required

Minimum Requirements

  • Relevant qualification in Quality, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field

  • Proven experience as a Quality Controller / Quality Inspector in the Engineering or Manufacturing sector

  • Hands-on CMM operating experience (essential)

  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings, tolerances, and GD&T

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems

  • Experience using precision measuring equipment (verniers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.)

  • Computer literate with quality documentation and reporting systems
