PROJECT PLANNING MANAGER - RENEWABLE ENERGY - CAPE TOWN
The main purpose of the role: This role suits a natural planner and facilitator who thrives on bringing structure, alignment, and clarity to complex projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop, manage, and maintain project schedules, ensuring all interdependencies are captured.
- Facilitate planning sessions, workshops, and progress check-ins to maintain structured and realistic schedules.
- Act as the central coordination point for project planning, ensuring that everyone is aligned to milestones and deliverables.
- Identify planning gaps, risks, and conflicts and elevate them for resolution.
- Track progress and ensure continuity across all project workstreams.
- Provide regular planning updates and reporting to ExCo and ManCo.
- Foster collaboration and accountability within the team to maintain project momentum.
- Work closely with ExCo, ManCo, and project team members to align individual plans with overall project timelines.
Requirements
- 5+ years’ experience in project planning, coordination, or program management roles.
- No previous technical energy sector experience required but must excel at structuring, facilitating, and coordinating planning activities to ensure continuity and delivery across the project.
- Demonstrated success in working with senior leadership teams on strategic projects.
- Experience in cross‑functional stakeholder engagement and facilitation.
- Relevant qualification in project management, business management, or related field (advantageous but not mandatory).
- Competence with project planning tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Asana, or similar).
