Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a skilled production planner based in Pinetown, KwaZulu-Natal. The ideal candidate will manage production plans, coordinate with departments, and ensure adherence to SOPs. Candidates should possess a Matric and a diploma related to Supply Chain, alongside 2-3 years of planning experience in a manufacturing environment. Advanced Excel skills and excellent communication abilities in English are essential for this role.

Qualifications

  • Understanding BOMs and product cost improvements within planning.

Responsibilities

  • Convert customer demand into an achievable production plan.
  • Reschedule production to accommodate changes in orders.
  • Report and escalate planning-related issues concerning customer orders.

Job description
  • Covert the customer demand into an achievable production plan, taking into consideration available machine capacity and raw material required from stock available.
  • Rescheduling production to suit changes in orders, urgent requirements, and material supply etc.
  • Follow the production planning requirements from customer order to customer delivery.
  • Report and escalate planning related issues concerning customer orders, delivery due dates and stock build/replenishment progress.
  • Determine manpower, equipment, and raw materials required to meet production demands.
  • Inter department co-ordination to achieve production plans, resolve quality issues relating to customer delivery, scheduling trials and new product development.
  • Maintain, develop, implement, and ensure adherence to company SOPs.
  • Host feedback meetings to the team on planned outputs.
  • Perform any reasonable duty as required within planning.
  • Filing completed Job cards for traceability.
  • Generate reports as feedback to management on planning progress vs customer requirements.
  • Ensure good housekeeping and employee safety in the allocated working area.
  • Planning New product development, Trials on materials and products.
  • Understanding BOMs and product cost improvements within planning.

Qualification and experience:

  • Matric
  • Diploma in Business or Equivalent Supply Chain degree, Inventory Management, or Supply Chain
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • 2-3 years planning experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment
