Our client in the pharmaceutical industry is looking for a Production Assistant to join their team in Kempton Park

Role Overview

ROLE OVERVIEW: PRODUCTION ASSISTANT

The Production Assistant plays a key supporting role within our production team, ensuring smooth operations from start to finish. You’ll be responsible for both administrative and hands-on tasks, helping the Procurement Officer deliver high-quality outputs on time and in line with internal processes.

Please note: This is not a desk-bound job – you will be on your feet for most of the day. Physical fitness and stamina are essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • You’ll assist in the day-to-day running of the production process, including:
  • Receiving stock from suppliers and capturing invoices
  • Requesting and following up on outstanding orders, invoices & credit notes
  • Performing monthly stock counts (packaging, raw materials, consumables, finished goods) for Reitzer Pharmaceuticals (Pty) Ltd
  • Capturing and issuing IBTs (inter-branch transfers)
  • Recording stock movement and manufacturing data on Acumatica
  • Manufacturing of bulk and finished goods
  • Printing of barcodes and formulations
  • Tracking and recording batch numbers and formulations
  • Releasing and recording retention samples
  • Scanning, shredding, and handling production documentation (COAs, formulations)
  • General daily production admin
  • Moving stock to Front Shop and issuing stock to relevant areas
  • Supporting weekly warehouse requests and inter-branch invoicing
  • Oversee the coordination of packaging and raw material storage and retrieval at Apollo (off-site storage facility), working closely with the driver and forklift operator to ensure timely and accurate movements
  • Manage and maintain housekeeping standards and conduct monthly stock counts for all packaging and raw materials stored at Apollo
  • Direct and supervise the driver/forklift operator on the correct storage units for stock placement and retrieval, ensuring that all stock is stored systematically, securely, and in compliance with company standards
  • Enforce strict adherence to internal controls by ensuring that no physical stock is moved without a fully completed, verified, and signed-off Inter-Branch Transfer (IBT)
AD HOC TASKS

Management may request additional duties from time to time across our group of companies.

Required Skills & Experience
  • Matric certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent
  • Experience in inventory or production support roles is an advantage
  • Experience with Acumatica ERP (or similar) is highly beneficial
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure
  • Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Organised, reliable, and proactive
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid forklift license is required
Working Hours

Monday to Thursday: 07h00 – 16h30

Fridays: 07h00 – 14h00
