We’re looking for an experienced Network Procurement Sourcing Specialist with strong telecoms, commercial, and financial expertise to support South Africa’s network value creation strategy.

Rooderport, Johannesburg

Duration

8 months contract (only immediately available candidates will be considered)

Salary

R66,743.60

The role is responsible for end-to-end sourcing, supplier engagement, commercial negotiations, and governance, working closely with Network, Finance, Demand Planning, and other internal stakeholders to support business and financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Financial & Commercial (Value Creation)

• Support shareholder return objectives through effective sourcing and cost optimization initiatives.
• Deliver category savings, working capital improvements, and total cost of ownership (TCO) benefits.
• Participate in and support commercial negotiations to reduce costs and improve value.
• Track and report savings, payment terms, and B-BBEE improvements.

Sourcing & Procurement Execution

• Manage end-to-end sourcing processes including demand analysis, sourcing strategy, RFx execution, evaluation, negotiation, and contract award.
• Prepare and review Scopes of Work (SoW) and business requirements in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Conduct spend analysis, market benchmarking, and supplier evaluations to inform sourcing decisions.
• Prepare sourcing calendars and ensure timely execution aligned with business needs.
• Facilitate cross-functional sourcing teams and ensure adherence to sourcing governance.

Stakeholder & Supplier Management

• Partner with internal business units to understand requirements, budgets, and timelines.
• Manage supplier relationships and act as the custodian of supplier engagement.
• Support supplier performance management through qualitative and quantitative inputs.
• Facilitate communication between suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Governance, Risk & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, Delegation of Authority (DoA), and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure sourcing documentation is complete, accurate, and audit-ready.
• Support audits and compliance reviews.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate supply chain risks.
• Embed B-BBEE, Preferential Procurement, and ESG requirements into sourcing strategies.

Data, Reporting & Continuous Improvement

• Maintain accurate supplier, material, and contract master data across systems.
• Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to track sourcing performance.
• Drive continuous improvement in sourcing turnaround times, quality, and efficiency.
• Stay up to date with telecoms industry trends, network technologies, and best practices.

People & Development

• Contribute to a high-performing sourcing team through knowledge sharing and collaboration.
• Participate in change management initiatives and training of internal stakeholders.
• Continuously develop professional skills and sourcing expertise.

Minimum Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, Business, Engineering, or related field

Experience

• 5+ years’ experience in strategic sourcing or procurement
