Job summary

A leading human capital firm is seeking a Process Technician in Mthatha. The role involves maintaining electrical instrumentation, conducting fault finding on automation equipment, and ensuring compliance with OHASA standards. Candidates should have extensive knowledge of chipboard manufacturing, PLC and SCADA systems, as well as a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience. Opportunities for development and teamwork are paramount in this position, which also includes after-hour standby duties.

Qualifications

  • 7 years in a similar position.
  • Good understanding of processes.

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance on all electrical instrumentation and software programs.
  • Fault finding and repair on all automation and drive equipment.
  • Perform changes to base documentation i.e. Manuals, P&ID and all instrumentation drawings.
  • Develop operating envelopes and assist in compiling and updating procedures.
  • Maintain OHASA standards and ensure high levels of housekeeping.
  • Identify and inform team leader of any health and safety hazards.
  • Perform after-hour standby duty on the plant.

Skills

Extensive knowledge in chipboard manufacturing
PLC knowledge (Allen Bradley & Siemens)
SCADA knowledge
Strong frequency drive knowledge (Allen Bradley & Sew)

Grade 12
Trade test electrician / millwright
