Defendant Personal Injury Supervisor

Location: Manchester or Birmingham (hybrid working available)

We are recruiting an experienced Defendant Personal Injury Supervisor to join our growing team in either Manchester or Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident PI professional to step into a leadership role within a well‑established and forward‑thinking defendant practice.

The Role

As a Defendant PI Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing and mentoring a team of fee earners handling a caseload of RTA defendant personal injury matters. You will play a key role in ensuring technical excellence, commercial decision‑making, and high‑quality client service.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervising and supporting a team of defendant PI fee earners
• Overseeing caseloads across fast track and/or multi‑track personal injury claims
• Providing technical guidance, coaching, and performance management
• Ensuring compliance with client SLAs, KPIs, and regulatory requirements
• Assisting with workflow management, file reviews, and quality assurance
• Supporting business development and continuous improvement initiatives

About You

You will be an experienced defendant PI professional with a strong technical background and a genuine interest in leadership and team development.

Qualifications

• Proven experience handling defendant personal injury claims
• Previous supervisory or mentoring experience (or readiness to step up)
• Strong technical knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules and PI litigation
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• A commercial and client‑focused approach
• Qualified solicitors, CILEX lawyers, are all encouraged to apply.
