About the job Package Lead Concentrator (EPC Mega Project)

Our client, a leading international mining company, is delivering a major EPC project to construct a new concentrator plant as part of a broader minerals processing development. We are currently seeking an experienced and driven Package Lead Concentrator to take responsibility for the successful execution of the concentrator scope of works, overseeing engineering, procurement, and construction through to commissioning.

This is a strategic project role, focused not on operations but on project execution, working closely with EPC contractors, engineering consultants, and internal stakeholders to ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery of the concentrator package.

This is a minimum 1 year FTC to extended as required. On‑Site open to South African citizens or permanent residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of the concentrator work package within a large‑scale EPC project, from detailed engineering through to handover.
  • Act as the principal interface between the client, EPC contractor, and technical consultants regarding all aspects of the concentrator package.
  • Monitor and manage schedule, budget, scope, quality, and risks, ensuring package alignment with overall project objectives.
  • Coordinate design reviews, procurement timelines, and construction milestones to drive delivery performance.
  • Review technical documentation, contractor deliverables, and ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
  • Identify and resolve package‑level issues, proactively implementing corrective actions to avoid delays and cost overruns.
  • Maintain strong safety leadership and ensure contractor adherence to all HSE requirements during site execution.
  • Support commissioning planning and readiness activities to ensure a smooth transition into operational testing and performance validation.

About You

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Mineral Processing, Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 1012 years of experience in mineral processing projects, with a strong track record in EPC/EPCM delivery environments.
  • At least 5 years in a project / package management, project engineering, or construction management role related to concentrator plants or major processing infrastructure.
  • Deep understanding of concentrator process systems, design requirements, and construction sequencing.
  • Familiarity with project controls, contract administration, and progress reporting in a large project setting.
  • Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, and leadership capabilities.
  • A proactive, solution‑focused approach with an emphasis on quality and risk mitigation.
