Job description
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the divisions
  • Drive operational excellence, ensuring quality, accuracy and efficiency in all bookings
  • Ensure that all services - transport, activities, accommodation, and guides - are confirmed, accurate, and delivered to standard
  • Monitor daily operations and proactively identify risks and operational gaps
  • Handle escalations from customers or consultants and resolve challenges with professionalism and urgency.
  • Oversee supplier logistics, allocations, and last-minute changes
  • Ensure costing accuracy, adherence to operational procedures, and deadline compliance
  • Analyse operational breakdowns and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
  • Oversee documentation: vouchers, travel packs, final itineraries
  • Conduct quality checks on consultants work and ensure operational readiness
  • Support in guest emergencies and unexpected disruptions
  • Collaborate with Finance and Sales to ensure smooth handover, billing, and reconciliation
  • Assist with training, team coordination, and implementing operational standards and system improvements
  • Establish and maintain long-term relationships with customers, suppliers, and partners
Qualifications
  • Grade 12 qualification. A qualification in Tourism will be highly advantageous.
  • Solid inbound tourism operations experience (3 - 5 years minimum)
  • Strong geographical, logistical, and travel product knowledge across Southern and Eastern Africa.
  • Cool-headed leadership and the ability to work well under pressure
  • A high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
  • Ability to handle multiple deadlines and moving parts without losing control
  • Strong numerical skills and logical thinking
  • Tech-savy, with a good understanding and experience working with booking systems and operational tools
