Role Overview

Operations Director – Wigan (Hybrid). Join ArrowXL to lead national logistics network. Reporting to CEO, this role drives operational excellence across multi‑site delivery, warehousing, fleet and partner functions.

Responsibilities

• Provide long‑term strategic leadership and governance across major hubs and outbases.
• Develop and coach General Managers and operational functions to run large teams.
• Drive safety culture, ensuring compliance with H&S legislation.
• Lead fleet function for vehicle availability, compliance and cost efficiency.
• Strategic oversight of trunking, central planning and Service Partner Delivery Manager.
• Develop multi‑year operations strategy aligned with commercial goals.
• Plan for peak trading, disruption scenarios and business continuity.

Qualifications

• Senior operations leadership (Head of Ops / Operations Director), 3+ years in delivery, logistics or warehousing.
• Experience managing multi‑site operations and senior leaders (GM, Head of Planning, Fleet Managers).
• Strong understanding of warehouse, last‑mile delivery, transport compliance and fleet management.
• Excellent command of operational KPIs, productivity levers and financial drivers.
• Analytical ability using data dashboards and operational systems (WMS, TMS, route optimisation).
• Experience with Service Partner / Delivery Partner networks and large‑scale customer‑facing logistics.
• Clear leadership presence, influencing at all levels and driving change.
