The ideal candidate will have a postgraduate degree in marine science and experience in leading field operations. This is a full-time position with a salary range of $101,285 to $107,078 per annum, plus superannuation.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualification(s) in marine science with a major in Oceanography or related discipline.
• Class C driver’s licence with demonstrated competency in driving and towing vehicle/vessel combinations.
• Coxswain certification or higher.

Responsibilities

• Manage scientific outcomes from state and national monitoring projects.
• Provide scientific expertise to support the Oceanography Subprogram.
• Pursue external funding opportunities for oceanographic instrumentation.
