Job summary

A government health department is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide services in accordance with health policies in Krugersdorp. The successful candidate will conduct patient assessments, supervise students and OTTs, and participate in quality assurance initiatives. A degree in Occupational Therapy and registration with HPCSA is required, along with good computer skills and experience in Psychiatry being advantageous. This position offers an annual salary between R397,233.00 and R454,191.00 plus benefits.

Qualifications

  • Registration with HPCSA as an Occupational Therapist (Independent Practice) is mandatory.
  • Experience in Psychiatry will be an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Render Occupational Therapy services in allocated areas of work.
  • Conduct assessment and treatment of patients in assigned areas.
  • Involve in the assessment of trial awaiting detainees.
  • Manage therapeutic and/or income-generating projects.
  • Write reports effectively within the MTD setup.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance and PMDS process.
  • Supervise OTTs and students.
  • Engage in CPD activities.

Duties
  • Render an Occupational Therapy service in allocated areas of work that compiles with the standards and norms as indicated by Health policies.
  • Assessment and treatment of patients in allocated work.
  • Involvement in the assessment of trial awaiting detainees.
  • Be responsible for therapeutic and/or income generating projects in area of work.
  • Effective report writing skills needed working well within the MTD set up.
  • Active participation in Quality Assurance and PMDS process.
  • Supervision of OTTs.
  • Supervision of students.
  • Participate in CPD activities.
