Job description

Wellington Wines has the following challenging career opportunity available for a dynamic and energetic person to take responsibility for the strategic expansion of their bottled wine sales. The incumbent will be based at the Bovlei Tasting Room and report to the CEO.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Strategic expansion of bottled wine sales in the local market (with a specific focus on Wellington and surrounding towns)
  • Wine tastings & sales (including working shifts)
  • Management of day-to-day operations of tasting room
  • Ensure adherence to high standard of customer service & handle customer queries and complaints
  • Driving online wine sales & wine club growth
  • Manage and market the renting of the conference hall
  • Plan and manage events (to boost wine sales)
  • Conducting market research and analysis
  • Oversee agent responsible for Social Media platforms
  • Provide support for international sales agents
  • Stock management and administration
  • Distribution administration

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years’ previous experience in a sales / hospitality environment
  • Willingness to work on public holidays and during weekends (Saturdays & Sundays) in accordance with a rotation schedule
  • Enthusiasm for wine and the desire to expand knowledge thereof
  • Relevant tertiary qualification will be advantageous (e.g. Cape Wine Academy / WSET / Marketing / Sales / Hospitality)
  • A professional, responsible, friendly and well-groomed personality
  • Excellent communication skills in both Afrikaans & English
  • Ability to work and solve problems independently
