Job summary

A well-established mining company in Limpopo is seeking a Mining Engineer to oversee all underground activities while ensuring compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act. The ideal candidate will have a B. Tech / BEng / BSc in Mining Engineering, a Blasting Certificate, and at least 5 years of experience in an underground production mine, with 2 of those years as an Appointed Production Superintendent. Strong leadership and financial management skills are required for this role.

Qualifications

• Must have a B. Tech / BEng / BSc Mining Engineering qualification.
• A valid Blasting Certificate is required.
• 5 years’ experience in an underground production mine is essential.
• 2 years’ experience as an Appointed Production Superintendent is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage all underground activities in accordance with the Mine Health and Safety Act.
• Ensure financial management of mine activities stays within targets.

The appointed person will have to be able to manage all underground activities and to make sure that it is in line with the Mine Health and Safety Act. They will be responsible to make sure that all financial management of the mine activities are kept within the target and most importantly, they must be able to motivate their team.

Requirements

• B. Tech / BEng / BSc Mining Engineering
• Blasting Certificate
• 5 years’ experience in an underground production mine
• 2 years’ experience as an Appointed Production Superintendent (Not Supervisor)
