Job summary

A leading firm in engineering is seeking a Quantity Surveyor in Cape Town to prepare detailed cost estimates and tender documents for mechanical projects. The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of estimating experience, a strong understanding of materials and production workflows, and proficiency in reading technical drawings. An NQF 6 in Engineering or Quantity Surveying is required. This position offers an opportunity to work closely with project managers and contribute to the continuous improvement of estimating processes.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years estimating experience within welding, mechanical, and fabrication environments.
• Strong understanding of materials, processes, and production workflows in the engineering sector.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, BOQs, and tender documents for mechanical projects.
• Analyse project requirements to determine material and labour needs.
• Liaise with suppliers to obtain accurate pricing.
