Job summary

A marketing consultancy in South Africa seeks a Marketing & Design Assistant to support marketing campaigns through design tasks and email marketing execution. Job description

6‑Month Contract
The Marketing & Design Assistant will support the execution of marketing campaigns by assisting with design tasks and handling email marketing execution.

This role also includes responsibility for the coordination and management of marketing collateral for general use and events.

The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, organised, and a collaborative team player who thrives in a fast‑paced marketing environment.

Role Responsibilities
  • Design & Content Support: Create and edit basic visual assets (e.g. banners, social media visuals, brochures). Ensure that all materials align with the company's brand guidelines and tone.
  • Email Marketing Execution: Design, build, and schedule emails in tools such as Everlytic and Hubspot. Set up and manage distribution lists. Coordinate approvals and QA before distribution.
  • Marketing Collateral Management: Assist in the management of marketing collateral stock, including storage, tracking, and inventory control. Coordinate the preparation and packing of collateral for campaigns, activations, and events.
  • Event Support: Assist with the packaging of branded materials and printed collateral for events, conferences, and exhibitions. Support the marketing team in organising event logistics related to brand presence and promotional items.
  • General Administration & Team Support: Maintain marketing folders, shared drives, and reference materials. Provide day‑to‑day administrative support to the marketing team.
Requirements / Qualifications

1–2 years of experience in graphic design or a related field.

Basic experience in graphic design for digital and print platforms.

Exposure to working in a fast‑paced, project‑driven environment is advantageous.

Experience supporting email marketing campaigns and managing distribution lists is advantageous.

Technical skills: Basic design skills in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator. Proficiency in Figma or willingness to learn.

Familiarity with email marketing tools such as Everlytic HubSpot, or similar.

Comfortable working with project management platforms (e.g. Trello, Microsoft Planner, ).

Strong computer literacy (Excel, PowerPoint, Google Workspace or Microsoft Office).

Non‑technical skills: Strong organisational and multitasking abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication. Detail‑oriented with a high level of accuracy. Ability to take initiative and manage time effectively. Proactive team player with a problem‑solving mindset. Willingness to learn and grow within a dynamic team environment.
