Key Responsibilities
- Develop a holistic understanding of the business to contribute to financial decision-making and strategic initiatives.
- Detailed cash flow forecasting and group-wide liquidity planning.
- Analyse the debtors book and provide insights on impact to the business.
- Identify inefficiencies in the control environment and propose practical improvements.
- Conceptualise, design, and execute financial projects to enhance operational and financial effectiveness.
- Development and documentation of the financial control environment.
- Build robust financial models to support business operations, treasury planning, and long-term financial strategy.
- Contribute to Opex benchmarking and conduct group-wide cost analysis.
- Lead and support the implementation and development of new financial software and tools.
- Develop systems to enable efficient branch-based accounting.
- Drive change management efforts and support the business through education and implementation of financial controls.
Requirements
- Qualified CIMA or CA (SA) with 2-3 yrs post-qualification experience.
- Strong business and operations acumen
- Experienced in management accounting, costing, ratio analysis, budgeting & forecasting, financial planning & analysis
- Control development and system implementation (advantageous)
- Willingness to travel occasionally
- Passionate about working in a developing world context
- Analytically sharp and energized by solving complex challenges
- Healthy sense of adventure (and humour!) is a big plus!
