Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Develop a holistic understanding of the business to contribute to financial decision-making and strategic initiatives.
• Detailed cash flow forecasting and group-wide liquidity planning.
• Analyse the debtors book and provide insights on impact to the business.
• Identify inefficiencies in the control environment and propose practical improvements.
• Conceptualise, design, and execute financial projects to enhance operational and financial effectiveness.
• Development and documentation of the financial control environment.
• Build robust financial models to support business operations, treasury planning, and long-term financial strategy.
• Contribute to Opex benchmarking and conduct group-wide cost analysis.
• Lead and support the implementation and development of new financial software and tools.
• Develop systems to enable efficient branch-based accounting.
• Drive change management efforts and support the business through education and implementation of financial controls.

Requirements

• Qualified CIMA or CA (SA) with 2-3 yrs post-qualification experience.
• Strong business and operations acumen
• Experienced in management accounting, costing, ratio analysis, budgeting & forecasting, financial planning & analysis
• Control development and system implementation (advantageous)
• Willingness to travel occasionally
• Passionate about working in a developing world context
• Analytically sharp and energized by solving complex challenges
• Healthy sense of adventure (and humour!) is a big plus!
