Job description

What We Are Looking For

• Responsible for the operational activity of a team of artisans to perform planned maintenance, general maintenance, conduct fault finding and do breakdown repairs and upgrades to plant and equipment. Ensures all electrical work performed, conforms to the Electrical Machinery Regulations and applicable SANS codes, and to issue COC for any electrical installations.
• Manage the planned preventative maintenance and breakdown repair functions of the maintenance Shift team in coordination with electrical and mechanical artisans, to ensure that equipment, facilities, and buildings are always operational and available. (Maintenance manager can change the electrical/mechanical supervisor to address RDM Service Shift or Shift teams to his/her discretion).

What Qualifications You Should Have

• Minimum BSc/ BEng/ BTech in Electrical Engineering.
• Registered Installation Electrician (IE).
• Must have a minimum of 10 years of Experience post qualification.
• Must have a minimum of 5 years of Experience as a Supervisor.
• Worked as qualified Installation Electrician in a maintenance environment – Forging/ Explosives or Petro-chemical field.
• Extensive SAP Plant Maintenance Knowledge.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision.
• Reading and interpretation of Electrical drawings and schematics.
• Perform high-level precision work.
• Good electrical insight in the repair of machinery and equipment.
• Code 8 driver’s license.
• Willingness to work shifts and overtime.
• Mechanical Engineering Aptitude.
