Job summary

A leading facilities solutions provider in Cape Town is seeking a Maintenance Planner to join their Technical Services team. The successful applicant will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and scheduling maintenance activities to ensure the reliability of building operations. Key requirements include 3–5 years of maintenance planning experience, knowledge of CMMS systems, and a valid Driver's Licence. Ideal candidates will have strong planning skills and the ability to work under pressure. This role offers a dynamic working environment with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years’ experience in maintenance planning in a technical/FM environment.
  • Experience with CMMS systems and a valid Driver’s Licence.
  • Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage, and optimise preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Plan and coordinate daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance work.
  • Track and update work orders, help desk calls, and SLA commitments.
  • Ensure tools, materials, and labour resources are available before work begins.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance data, asset histories, reports, and documentation.
  • Coordinate subcontractor activities and ensure compliance with safety requirements.
  • Engage with clients to communicate planned work and minimise service disruptions.

Skills

Strong planning, scheduling, and time-management skills
Ability to read technical drawings and documentation
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and customer service orientation
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities

Education

Grade 12 (Matric)
Technical trade or maintenance certification
