Job purpose

Responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of internal and external warehouse and plant logistics to ensure efficient, safe, and accurate handling of all inbound and outbound goods. Ensures logistics activities align with COFCO policies and procedures and ensures statutory compliance, participates in audits, and supports key projects, contributing to a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.

Key Performance Areas
  1. Warehouse & Logistics Operations
    • Oversee daily warehouse, oil loading, weighbridge and seed intake activities to ensure smooth, accurate and timely workflows.
    • Manage receiving, storing, rotating, and dispatching of goods in line with company procedures.
    • Ensure efficient order fulfilment, accurate stock handling and proper use of WMS for inventory control.
    • Monitor truck turnaround times and ensure sufficient storage space for finished products.
  2. Inventory & Quality Management
    • Maintain accurate inventory records, investigate discrepancies, and ensure FIFO principles are applied in warehouse and silo operations.
    • Analyse daily meal quality reports, stock quality and stack conditions, and ensure daily meal stacking maps are distributed.
    • Resolve issues related to damaged stock, delivery delays, or logistics system challenges.
  3. Compliance, Safety & Housekeeping
    • Enforce adherence to health, safety, and statutory requirements, ensuring a safe, clean and organized working environment.
    • Participate in internal/external audits and weekly housekeeping inspections.
    • Assist in developing and improving warehouse policies and procedures.
  4. Leadership, Training & Reporting
    • Lead, train, and evaluate staff to ensure high performance and compliance with company standards.
    • Ensure all necessary training is conducted and properly recorded.
    • Prepare and distribute operational, stock, and logistics performance reports as required by management.
  5. Cross‑Functional Collaboration
    • Work closely with Production, Sales, Customer Service, Accounting, and other departments to support seamless operations.
    • Address internal and external stakeholder queries and contribute to improved logistics integration across the business.
Minimum Criteria
  • 5–8 years in a manufacturing environment (preferably FMCG).
  • Diploma/Degree in Logistics or Transport Management.
  • Degree in Chemical Engineering will be advantageous.
  • At least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Experience with inventory and warehouse management systems.
  • Experience in soya/sunflower crush plant or silo operations.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience required
  • 5–8 years’ experience in a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
  • Proven experience in warehouse operations, stock management, and logistics coordination.
  • Experience working in soya/sunflower crush plants, silos, or edible oil processing environments (advantageous).
  • At least 2 years’ supervisory experience managing teams in a high‑volume operational setting.
  • Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory control tools.
  • Knowledge of logistics processes, inbound/outbound flow, and transport coordination.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, reporting tools, and general computer literacy.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse procedures, stock rotation (FIFO), quality control, and handling standards.
  • Knowledge of relevant health, safety, and statutory regulations applicable in a manufacturing/plant environment.
