A vacancy exists for a Liquor Sales Manager within Kazang-Merchant in Pretoria and/or North West. We are seeking a dynamic and performance-driven Sales and Distribution leader to serve as a Liquor Sales Manager for Kazang’s Direct Sales division. In this high-impact role, you will lead a team of high-performing sales executives with ownership of performance targets akin to running your own successful business. This is an exceptional opportunity to drive substantial business growth, develop strategic partnerships, and lead a top-tier sales team to operational excellence. Your leadership will be instrumental in delivering exceptional service and achieving strategic objectives within your region, directly contributing to Kazang’s overall success in the Liquor vertical.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruit, train, and develop prospective team members through formal recruitment processes and structured onboarding programs; ensure ongoing skill development aligned with business needs.
  • Implement and oversee formal performance management systems to ensure individual and team accountability, continuous improvement, and achievement of performance standards.
  • Own the revenue performance for your geographic region’s Liquor vertical teams, developing strategies to meet profitability targets and financial growth objectives.
  • Manage and lead the team to a defined budget, including setting and achieving growth targets while maintaining control of expenses.
  • Control and audit the use of company assets and fleet, ensuring optimal utilization, compliance, and cost efficiency.
  • Conduct granular performance analysis and data-driven assessments to monitor progress against specific project targets and operational KPIs.
  • Drive operational efficiency improvements across functions and implement best practices to maximize sales performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement across departments to streamline processes, remove operational barriers, and promote growth opportunities.
  • Develop and execute strategic regional business plans, continuously refining sales strategies based on market insights and performance data.
  • Mentor and coach the sales team, fostering a high-performance culture through clear expectations, accountability, and professional development.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Sales or a related field, as well as formal sales management/leadership certifications.
  • Proven experience managing teams with responsibility for revenue growth targets and operational oversight of sales teams.
  • Demonstrated success in driving business growth, managing targets, and controlling assets.
  • Experience in formal performance management, including implementing progressive disciplinary procedures.
  • Strong background in team recruitment, training, and skills development.
  • Analytical proficiency to interpret performance data and translate insights into actionable strategies.
  • Industry knowledge relevant to the business context (e.g., fintech, banking, FMCG) is advantageous.
  • Valid endorsement for code 8 driver’s license.
