Job summary

A governmental health department is seeking a candidate for a laundry supervisory role in Krugersdorp. Responsibilities include supervising laundry workers, managing clean and soiled linen, and performing regular audits. Candidates must have a Grade 10 or equivalent and at least 3 years of relevant experience. Requirements
  • Grade 10 or ABET level 04 qualification. Must be computer literate. Be able to work under pressure. Be able to work shifts including public holidays. Good communication, numerical, organizing and supervisory skills. 3 years relevant experience required. Knowledge of working procedures in a laundry working environment. Skills: Planning and organizing, Basic numeracy, literacy, sound human relation, ability to perform routine tasks and Basic interpersonal relationship. Have ability to liaise with stake holders. Be prepared to do physical labour. It is a legal requirement that employees wear protective clothing in terms of OHS.
Duties
  • Supervise laundry workers. Assist with PMDS. Prepare and send clean linen to the wards. Ensure the collection of dirty linen from the wards to the service provider (Masakhane). Oversee sorting and counting of soiled linen from the wards. Oversee cleaning of the laundry area. Conduct audit of all patients’ linen at least once per month. Conduct regular meetings with sub-ordinates. Perform any other duties delegated by Management.
