Position: Key Accounts Manager

Location: Cape Town

Salary: Market Related

Outline:

Relevant Experience, Knowledge, and Skills Required:

  • 5-7 years working experience as a KAM with at least 5 years in the clearing and forwarding industry
  • Must have Key Account / Account Management experience within the Freight and Logistics industry (Sea, Air, and Road)
  • Current and previous operations experience required with Air Freight and Sea Freight industries
  • Operations background is a distinct advantage
  • Servicing & Sales, International Trade principles & practices

Macro and Micro factors impacting the business environment:

  • Understanding of statutory charges and revenue-generating charges
  • Knowledge of company standard trading conditions and liability limitations
  • Familiarity with terms of payment, finance fees, CRM tools, INCOTERMS
  • Carrier & depot conditions of trade, national currencies, and international codes

Computer literacy (Intermediate competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook)

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Business acumen, presentation, and negotiation skills (intermediate)

Client/service orientation, situation analysis, and problem-solving skills

Judgment and decision-making abilities

Creative and innovative thinking

Action and result-oriented mindset

Education Required: Matric; 1-year Sales & Marketing qualification at NQF Level 5
