A leading e-commerce firm in Cape Town is seeking a Key Account Manager to enhance vendor experiences and drive strategic growth. You will utilize data analytics, optimize supply chain processes, and serve as the primary liaison with vendors. Ideal candidates should have a degree and at least 2 years of relevant experience. The Key Account Manager works within Amazon Vendor Services (AVS), a B2B service designed to help strategic vendor partners grow their business with Amazon. As a Key Account Manager, you will gain 360-degree exposure to all e-commerce related areas that directly impact long-term and short-term strategic growth metrics for key vendors. Your role involves acting as a consultant to drive success growth metrics daily and ensuring the vendor experience of AVS reflects our customer obsession. Additionally, you will collaborate with multiple internal teams and management to enhance vendor success at Amazon, including merchandising, marketing, new product launch teams, category leads, pricing, finance, and supply chain. This role is strategic, operational, and tactical in nature.
Key Job Responsibilities
Core Service: Utilize your knowledge in deep data analytics to identify industry opportunities and provide recommendations to improve overall business performance through Amazon programs, driving long-term benefits for both Amazon and the vendor. Offer actionable insights to support vendor decision-making and business growth.
Relationship Management: Serve as the primary liaison between the vendor and Amazon, ensuring all interactions and materials are of a standard that builds trust and fosters long-term partnerships.
Availability & Operational Excellence: Drive supply chain operational excellence by optimizing processes, managing defects, lead times, and stock levels to ensure product availability for customers.
Promotion & Funding: Recommend marketing and advertising strategies for vendors to promote new products, increase traffic, and improve conversion rates. Plan and manage promotional activities for Amazon events, collaborating with Amazon Advertising to explore further marketing opportunities.
Ranging: Support product range growth by managing new product launches, expanding local range availability, and improving discoverability on the platform. Identify product gaps, onboard new products, and drive product growth.
Store Data Quality Management: Ensure a positive customer journey by conducting regular store checks, competitor benchmarking, creating enhanced content on detail pages, and maintaining accurate product descriptions.
Problem Solving: Develop and implement clear action plans to enable vendor growth within AVS, adapting service offerings to meet vendor and Amazon business needs.
Project Management: Deliver projects that add value to vendors and the Amazon community.
Team Player: Participate actively in Amazon-led initiatives to improve the Amazon store customer experience in South Africa.
A Day in the Life: Focus on strategic tasks that grow vendor portfolios and enhance vendor experience, balancing administrative duties with strategic planning.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or minimum 3-year Diploma (NQF 6). At least 2 years of experience in account management, customer development, buying, business management, consulting, project management, financial analysis, or marketing. Strong problem-solving skills and stakeholder engagement experience are advantageous.
