Overview

Junior Retail Manager – Pretoria East (Home Decor). A Pretoria East interior décor (Curtains, Blinds and flooring) retail store is looking for a Junior Retail Manager to help oversee store operations, guide a small team and drive elevated customer experiences and sales performance.

Requirements
  • Must be fluent in Afrikaans (non-negotiable)
  • Interior Décor experience essential
  • Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent
  • Interior Design or similar tertiary qualification will be beneficial
  • Background that includes working with or supporting interior designers in a retail or décor-related environment
  • Prior retail management or team leadership experience; preferably in interior décor, furniture, curtains/blinds or similar lifestyle retail sectors
  • Educational background or practical training in Interior Design, or experience working with interior design clients
  • Strong organisational, leadership and customer service orientation
  • Proficiency in basic administration and retail systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Be able to work alternate weekends on a rotational basis
Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily store operations and manage front-of-house team (e.g. retail assistants)
  • Monitor monthly sales targets; generate reports and adjust strategies
  • Train staff on interior-focused product knowledge, upselling techniques, and décor consultations
  • Ensure consistent visual merchandising and store presentation
  • Provide personalised consultations to high-value clients and guide product selection
  • Monitor inventory levels, stock samples, and coordinate reordering with suppliers
  • Assist with installation scheduling and client follow-up to ensure satisfaction
  • Handle customer issues or complaints with professionalism and escalate as needed
