Job summary

Overview

Absolute Pets is the leading pet care retailer in South Africa with over 190 stores nationwide. The Company caters to a high-end customer with premium products for pets ranging from pet food to health & wellness products and accessories. Absolute Pets is looking for a Location Planner to join their team. The successful Candidate will work within the planning team to ensure stock is efficiently allocated to our stores.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize Qliksense, Netstock and Quant systems as well as customer and store feedback to evaluate and set optimal inventory stock levels and planning parameters based on historical demand variations, forecasts and desired service levels.
  • Set up appropriate system parameters, profiles, safety stocks, display minimums to achieve store/item in stock goals and objectives.
  • Partner with the buyers and demand planner to actively manage inventory levels.
  • Work with buying team and stores to analyse business by store to maximize sales and stock opportunities.
  • Analyse historic performance and planned strategies to identify areas of opportunity or risk.
  • Demonstrate detailed understanding of product sales behaviours such as seasonality, trend, price and promotional activity.
  • Assist in planning strategies for discontinued and redundant stock.
  • Monitor and assess effectiveness of process and drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure timely reporting to ensure management remain up-to-date on category performance.
  • Identify relevant market-related data and competitive intelligence.
  • Develop and execute macro space plans by store.
  • Execute new store and store revamp macro space plans
  • Analyse customer and store feedback and sales data to enhance in-store customer experience, adjusting product placements based on customer flow analyses, enhancing in-store navigation and layout
  • Track and analyse promotion post mortems and provide recommendations to improve processes for the next activity.
  • Be main point of contact in the planning team for the designated stores
Requirements:
  • Grade 12/Matric with Mathematics
  • Tertiary Qualification in Retail Management, Business, Finance, Logistics, Supply Chain, Mathematics, Statistics or similar field- Advantageous
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in Planning
  • A high degree of numeracy and a detailed and accurate approach to work Intermediate to Advanced Excel Skills (complex formulae, pivot tables, modelling)
  • Computer literate in MS Word, MS Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Highly motivated, energetic, self-starter who has the ability to be proactive
  • Able to effectively time manage
