Job summary

A finance consultancy in Amanzimtoti is seeking a reliable Junior Bookkeeper to join their team. The ideal candidate should have essential Pastel experience, bookkeeping skills, and be comfortable in a small, fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include processing transactions, maintaining ledgers, and supporting financial reporting. A Matric with Maths/Accounting is required, along with prior bookkeeping experience.

Job description

Our client, based in Amanzimtoti, is looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Junior Bookkeeper to join their finance team. The ideal candidate has Pastel experience, understands sectional title or body corporate processes, and is comfortable working in a small, fast-paced team.

Based in Amanzimtoti

  • Experience with Pastel is essential
  • Body corporate/property industry experience preferred
  • CTC: R10 000
  • Mature, dependable candidates will be prioritised
Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Process daily transactions and maintain accurate general ledger records
  • Capture and reconcile bank statements on Pastel
  • Assist with monthly and annual financial reporting
  • Prepare and send out levy statements and handle levy-related queries
  • Allocate receipts and payments to correct accounts
  • Maintain records of supplier invoices and assist in payment preparation
  • Liaise with trustees, residents, and service providers regarding accounts and payments
  • Assist with budgeting processes and ensure expense tracking
  • Support the accountant or senior bookkeeper with ad hoc duties
  • Maintain proper filing and financial document control
Requirements:
  • Matric (Grade 12) with Maths/Accounting
  • Minimum 2 years’ bookkeeping or accounts assistant experience
  • Pastel experience is essential
  • Experience in a body corporate, sectional title, or property management environment is a strong advantage
  • Strong attention to detail and good reconciliation skills
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Preferably a mature, stable candidate with a strong sense of responsibility
  • Own transport or reliable commuting to Amanzimtoti
