Job Description
We are looking for a skilled Junior Bookkeeper to start as soon as possible. They need to maintain our financial records, including payments, receipts, petty cash disbursements and payroll (and HR). Ultimately, the Junior Bookkeeper’s responsibilities are to accurately record all day-to-day financial transactions of our company.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Record day to day financial transactions and complete the posting process
- Review postings to the GL for accuracy and timeliness
- Verify the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents or records
- Track and reconcile bank statements
- Complete cashbook to trial balance
- Complete tax forms, eg. VAT201, EMP201, EMP501, IT12EI
- Develop, maintain, and analyse budgets, preparing periodic variance analysis
- Prepare monthly payroll and keep organized staff records
- Prepare/draft annual financial statements
- Liaise with external auditor. Prepare audit file.
- Prepare monthly financial reports and funder proposals
- Work closely with management team eg. Fundraiser, Programme Managers
- HR administration
Qualifications And Requirements
- Proven Junior bookkeeping and HR experience
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles
- Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
- Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
- Proficiency in English and in MS OfficeAdvanced MS Excel skills (creating spreadsheets and using financial functions)
- Quickbooks and Quick Payroll for accounting software
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Organizational and time-management skills
- Attention to detail, with an ability to spot numerical errors
- Drivers license and own car is essential.
