POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a motivated, detail‑oriented Junior Accountant to join our finance team on a 45‑month temporary contract. This role is ideal for candidates with 13 years of accounting experience who are eager to make an immediate impact in a fast‑paced environment. You will support daily financial operations, assist with reporting, and collaborate across departments.

Candidates should have a solid understanding of accounting principles, experience with reconciliations and financial reporting, and the ability to work independently.

Must be available to start immediately.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintain accurate financial records, including journal entries, general ledger accounts, and reconciliations.
  • Prepare and manage accounting journals and schedules, such as fixed‑asset register journals (e.g., goodwill amortization), lease journals, prepaid expenses, and accrued expenses.
  • Perform ad‑hoc accounting tasks as required.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement).
  • Support month‑end and year‑end close processes to ensure timely, accurate reporting.
  • Conduct variance and trend analyses to identify discrepancies and recommend improvements.
  • Contribute to budgeting and forecasting by compiling and analyzing financial data.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
  • Provide documentation and explanations for internal and external audit requests.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to resolve accounting issues and deliver financial insights.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency in accounting operations.
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree or postgraduate qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related field (e.g., Accounting Degree or Postgraduate Diploma in Accountancy).
  • 13 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in financial reporting or general ledger functions.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and standard accounting practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, particularly QuickBooks.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis).
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in financial data management.
  • Strong organizational abilities with proven capacity to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across teams.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
  • Must be authorized to work in the country where the job is based.
  • Must be willing to submit up to a LEVEL II background and/or security investigation with a fingerprint. Job offers are contingent on background/security investigation results.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This job operates in a professional office environment. The employee will be largely sedentary, required to sit/stand for long periods while using a computer and telephone headset. The employee will regularly use a computer and other office equipment, including a phone, copier, and printer. The employee may occasionally be required to move about the office, reach in any direction, raise or lower objects, move objects from place to place, hold onto objects, and exert force up to forty (40) pounds.
