Overview

We are seeking a Junior Accountant for a permanent role based in East London, Eastern Cape.

Qualifications
  • Diploma/Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (or studying towards one)
  • Minimum 1–2 years’ accounting experience with exposure to administration
  • Good understanding of accounting principles and basic payroll processes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience with accounting software – Xero Accounting
  • Strong organisational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail
Responsibilities
  • Accounting Support
    • Assist with daily accounting functions (capturing invoices, reconciliations, petty cash, general ledger updates)
    • Assist with month-end reporting and preparation of supporting schedules
    • Provide support during audits and tax compliance processes
  • Payroll & Employee Support
    • Assist with payroll-related functions such as leave management, overtime records, and staff queries (not full payroll processing)
  • Administrative Functions
    • Draft and prepare business correspondence, letters, and internal communication
    • Manage and update training records for staff
    • Support management with document preparation, filing, and record-keeping
    • General office administration to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
