Job Overview

The IT Systems and Application Analyst is responsible for analysing, maintaining, and optimising business applications and IT systems across the organisation. This role requires close collaboration with business users, IT teams, and vendors to ensure applications support business goals effectively and securely. The analyst will also play a key role in system implementation, user support, data integration, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The successful candidate will report to the Systems Manager and work closely with the Technical Team and business stakeholders to ensure the effective delivery of objectives and responsibilities.

Responsibilities
  • Analyse, maintain, and support enterprise applications, including ERP, CRM, HR systems, and other critical business tools.
  • Work with users and stakeholders to gather and document system requirements and translate them into functional specifications.
  • Monitor application performance, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate resolutions with internal teams or external vendors.
  • Manage system upgrades, patching, and configuration changes with minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for systems, processes, and procedures.
  • Assist with implementation and rollout of new applications and systems, including testing, training, and support.
  • Support data integrity, migration, and system integration using APIs, ETL tools, or scripting.
  • Ensure applications meet compliance, security, and performance standards.
  • Provide Tier 2/3 support for escalated helpdesk issues related to enterprise systems and applications.
  • Deliver day-to-day system support and resolve issues.
  • Configure appropriate system access to optimise internal controls.
  • Manage/support project teams in implementing new or updated systems.
  • Test and review internal processes and procedures for effectiveness.
  • Deliver system training to users.
  • Review current systems, interfaces, forms, and procedures, and propose solutions to improve efficiency and reduce manual work.
  • Support the Systems Manager in ensuring internal controls are effective, enforced, and continuously improved.
  • Work with Managers to design and develop internal and external management reports.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders and system developers when required.
Requirements
  • Degree in Commerce, Business, Accounting, or IT.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in IT systems or application analysis/support.
  • Proven experience with enterprise applications.
  • Familiarity with databases (SQL), reporting tools, and integration tools.
  • Systems development and application systems experience.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting systems.
  • ERP system experience.
  • Experience in both project and BAU environments.
Skills
  • Up-to-date knowledge of current IT applications trends and practices.
  • Strong analytical and numerical ability to identify and address emerging issues.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage conflict and maintain stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong literacy and effective written communication skills.
  • Scripting or programming experience advantageous.
  • Ability to manage a demanding workload with competing priorities.
