The Alliance Française of Port Elizabeth is looking for a dynamic, passionate and qualified isiXhosa Language Teacher to join our team. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality language instruction to learners of all ages and levels, following a communicative and student-centred approach.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and deliver isiXhosa language classes for adults and children
  • Use interactive, engaging, and culturally relevant materials
  • Develop lesson plans aligned with learner levels and goals
  • Monitor and assess student progress
  • Maintain records of attendance and evaluations
  • Contribute to language and cultural events when relevant
Requirements
  • Fluency in isiXhosa (native or near-native level)
  • Teaching qualification and/or relevant degree (e.g., Education, Language Teaching)
  • Experience teaching isiXhosa as a second or foreign language
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere
  • Punctual, professional, and reliable
Assets (optional but advantageous)
  • Knowledge of communicative or CEFR-based teaching methods
  • Experience with curriculum development
  • Familiarity with digital teaching tools
  • Ability to work with children and teenagers
