About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Industrial Relations (IR) Consultant to join our team and play a pivotal role in managing and advising on all aspects of employee relations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of South African labour law, excellent negotiation skills, and a passion for fostering fair and productive workplace environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice and support on all IR matters, including disciplinary procedures, grievances, and conflict resolution.
  • Represent the company at the CCMA and Bargaining Councils.
  • Draft and review employment contracts, disciplinary documentation, and IR policies.
  • Conduct investigations and chair disciplinary hearings.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, trade unions, and external legal advisors.
  • Monitor changes in labour legislation and ensure organizational compliance.
  • Deliver training and workshops on IR best practices and legal updates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Labour Law, Industrial Psychology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an IR-focused role.
  • In-depth knowledge of South African labour legislation (LRA, BCEA, EEA, etc.).
  • Proven experience representing employers at the CCMA.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.
