Job description
Key Responsibilities
  • Business Liaison Activities: To be the primary contact and meet the KOLs in Department of Health and CMS representatives on a regular basis and maintain good relations with them.
  • Ensure that KOLs in Department of Health and CMS representatives are regularly updated on the status of our various product development projects.
  • Product Registration / Regulatory Activities: Work closely with regulatory teams in India and South Africa and ensure that the dossiers for the products are submitted in time with SAHPRA.
  • Meet the relevant people in SAHPRA on a regular basis and push for the registrations for our ARV and TB products.
  • Tender Operations: Work in close co‑ordination with the GIB team during the tendering process, provide relevant inputs and strategies, and ensure that the tenders are submitted in time.
  • Attend all the pre‑bid / post‑bid meetings on behalf of the GIB team.
  • Post tender‑award, participate in the forecasting process with DOH and provide relevant inputs on the requirements of the various provinces so that production can be planned accordingly in India / locally in South Africa (repackaging).
  • Attend the production planning meeting via a telecon / Videocon on a monthly basis and provide inputs on requirements as per the contract awarded.
  • Stay updated on competitor's activities and give inputs on the same.
  • Business Development Activities: Coordination with local manufacturing companies: Work closely with marketing to identify suitable local manufacturing partners for repackaging activity for our TB and ARV products.
  • Work closely with the chosen local manufacturing companies and ensure that the operations run smoothly as per the contract.
  • Business Development activities in neighbouring countries (Lesotho, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Botswana, Namibia): Develop and implement strategies to maximize business opportunities in the public healthcare domain in the designated countries.
  • Represent the company's healthcare interests with appropriate government departments, public tender administrators and allied professional healthcare authorities in the designated countries.
  • Attend industry meetings and provide updates on relevant trends / developments in the territory.
  • Participate in local conferences on the TB and ARV therapy areas in the region and keep a continuous track on changes in the therapy areas (new products being introduced, therapy changes, price revisions, etc.).
Pre‑Requisites
  • At least 3‑4 years' experience in a similar role, working closely with SAHPRA and the Department of Health.
  • Pharmacy / Science / Medical related degree or equivalent.
  • Incumbent will be required to travel within South Africa and neighbouring countries.
  • Work 50% in office/home vs 50% on the road.
