Head: New Business Development
Responsibilities
- Identify and develop strategic opportunities for the business to diversify the consumer base and gain additional market share.
- Provide short- and long-term strategic recommendations to Exco to develop and capitalise on business opportunities.
- Develop and execute The Companys Mergers and Acquisitions strategy.
- Cultivate strong relationships with the Sales and Marketing team to identify capital projects, establish joint ventures, leverage contacts, pursue new product development, and improve project efficiency.
- Cultivate strong relationships with the ICT team to identify capital projects, establish joint ventures, leverage contacts, pursue new product development, and improve project efficiency.
- Oversee the planning and implementation of business plans for entering new markets and launching new initiatives.
- Initiate and lead all phases of new business development, including prospecting and networking, initial relationship development, contract negotiations, and transition to ongoing client engagement.
- Partner with Legal and Governance teams to ensure agreements are in place for all new business.
- Partner with the Finance & Operations team to develop contracts and pricing that position The Company for success.
- Develop a pipeline of corporate prospects to achieve annual business development goals for The Company.
- Lead the creation of B2B strategies supported by comprehensive programmes.
- Drive Enterprise Development and Supplier Enterprise Development by overseeing enterprise development strategy, identifying enterprise development opportunities, and ensuring required spend is achieved.
Qualifications
- NQF Level 7 Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years in business development, with at least 3 years in a senior management role.
- Experience in private/public/non-profit sales (a plus).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent financial management skills.
