Role Purpose

Provide strategic leadership and ownership for Momentum Collective Investments (MCI), driving the development and execution of forward-thinking strategic and operational initiatives that strengthen the brand, enhance operational and service excellence, and deliver sustainable, client-centric investment solutions. The role ensures alignment with broader Momentum Investments and Institutional Operations strategies, positioning MCI for long-term growth and resilience.

Requirements

Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications

  • Honours degree in Finance or related field (essential).
  • CA / CFA / Actuarial qualification or MBA (advantageous).
  • 10 years’ experience in investments with exposure to collective investment schemes.
  • Experience managing operations and or service teams.
  • Proven track record in strategy development and execution in investment management.
  • Experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams, with strong operational and client-service orientation.
Duties & Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership and delivery of client-centric solutions | Internal process

  • Assume full strategic and management ownership of MCI, setting the direction in alignment with the Head of Institutional Operations and Momentum Investments’ objectives.
  • Lead the execution, and continuous refinement of MCI’s strategy, ensuring agility and mitigating risk in response to investment practices, market trends, regulatory, business and technological changes.
  • Drive the translation of business strategy and organisational needs into actionable features and initiatives that deliver measurable business value through enhanced efficiencies.
  • Champion innovation and transformative practices across all business areas, positioning the collective investments division as an industry leader.
  • Responsible for the full Collective investment scheme, product life cycle, operations, client experience, distribution enablement and defining the road map of strategic and operational priorities across all business areas.
  • Hold overall accountability and strategic goal setting for the effectiveness, efficiency, and quality of all service and operational functions within MCI.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of robust operational frameworks, ensuring seamless client experiences and operational excellence.
  • Drive continuous improvement in service delivery, leveraging technology, process optimisation, and best-in-class practices.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, risk, and governance requirements, embedding a culture of ethical conduct and operational discipline.
  • Ensure all risk management, compliance, and governance frameworks are embedded in operational practices.
  • Lead and provide strategic direction to the Manager MCI operations and Service Portfolio Lead, fostering collaboration and operational excellence across their teams.
  • Build and enable a positive and engaging culture that energises employees, enhances productivity, and creates meaning in work.
  • Drive talent development by identifying growth opportunities, implementing learning interventions, and actively coaching team members.
  • Manage performance effectively, ensuring business objectives are consistently achieved, ensuring high-quality client interactions, efficient query resolution, and continuous improvement of service and delivery standards.
  • Implement best practices and process improvements across service and operations to optimise efficiency and client satisfaction.
  • Monitor and report on operational performance, identifying areas for enhancement and driving corrective actions as needed.
  • Negotiate and monitor service level agreements, ensuring consistent delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and sustain strategic partnerships to strengthen MCI’s service and operations capabilities.

  • Develop, manage, and control budgets aligned to delivery plans, ensuring optimal cost management.
  • Implement and maintain sound financial controls, risk methodologies, and governance practices.
  • Identify and resolve high-risk financial issues while ensuring compliance with ethical and regulatory standards.
