🚀 We’re Hiring: Hardware Operations Manager – Merchant Division

We are looking for a highly competent Hardware Operations Manager to take ownership of the financial and logistical management of all assets and supplier agreements that enable our services and business offerings across the Merchant Division. This role is critical in ensuring efficient asset supply, lifecycle optimisation, and best in market service and uptime for our merchant base.

In a complex business environment requiring large volumes of commoditised assets, strong asset governance and hardware lifecycle management are essential to remain competitive and deliver exceptional service.

💼 Purpose

The Hardware Operations Manager is responsible for:

  • Managing the financial and logistical aspects of asset supply and support
  • Overseeing supplier agreements essential for service delivery
  • Ensuring hardware lifecycle performance supports merchant uptime
  • Maintaining efficient, well controlled asset management across the division

This role requires a highly experienced and capable individual to ensure operational excellence, cost efficiency, and sustainable support for all merchant facing hardware.

🤝 Key Responsibility Areas

🔧 Strategy Implementation

  • Implement strategies related to procurement, stock management, field management, deployment and support of all hardware assets used by customers and partners.
  • Implement strategies relating to supplier agreements, including procurement, service provision, financing, insurance and maintenance of assets.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction, efficiency improvements and innovation within asset management protocols.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align asset strategies with broader organisational objectives.
  • Stay abreast of market trends and ensure the latest hardware technologies and variants are evaluated and presented to the business.

🤝 Supplier Engagement & Relationship Management

  • Manage supplier relationships in the best interests of the company.
  • Engage with new potential suppliers and service providers as needed.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements to optimise value and reduce risk.
  • Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular reviews for contractual compliance.
  • Track international orders and deliveries to ensure continuity of supply.
  • Ensure all importation documentation, permits and certifications are maintained and compliant.

📊 Data Analysis, Financial Optimisation & Procurement

  • Analyse supplier costs and benefits to ensure maximum value at all times.
  • Determine hardware usage patterns, installation costs, support costs and repair trends for financial modelling.
  • Implement data driven strategies to improve asset utilisation, reduce downtime, and enhance financial efficiency.
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasting models and financial plans related to asset procurement and lifecycle management.
  • Engage Sales and Product teams to ensure procurement and demand planning support future sales requirements.
  • Ensure consumable demand (SIMs, batteries, chargers, printers) aligns with hardware needs and refurbishment cycles.
  • Ensure hardware procurement stays within approved Capex budgets and communicate anticipated shortfalls promptly.
  • Ensure consumable purchases remain within monthly budgets; report overruns and price increase monthly.
