Responsible for the business risk register, designing processes, policies and procedures to identify and manage threats to the achievement of organizational or business objectives.
In addition to threats to the organization and its employees, the role is also responsible for identifying and reporting on strategic and emerging risks via stakeholder engagement, assisting the development of mitigations to protect the Group's customers, reputation, assets and interests of stakeholders.
Minimum of a B-degree (commerce, science, engineering)
Minimum 4 years' experience in Audit or Risk Management.
Experience in the Poultry Production and Distribution industry would be advantageous.
Traveling will be required.
Understanding of the industry / similar industry and related business risks and the capacity to assimilate and apply this understanding to the benefit of the organization
A solid understanding of business processes, risks and controls
Thorough knowledge of enterprise risk assessment and management.
An understanding of SHEQ, legal and sustainability risks and controls
A high-level understanding of fraud risk management
A sound understanding of ERM principles and philosophy
An ability to analyze and interpret large volumes of data
An ability to understand and interpret financial information and principles
Strong communication skills, including presentation and public speaking
Intellectually curious, creative and innovative
Ability to attract and develop talent and build a high-quality internal audit team
Professional in all respects – display honesty, integrity and strong ethics
Independent and objective.
Assist the Board and Engineering & Risk Executive (E&R Exec) to establish and communicate the organization's ERM objectives and direction
Assist management with integrating risk management with the strategy development process
Assist the CEO, Executive Committee and Engineering & Risk Executive (E&R Exec) to develop and communicate risk management policies, risk appetite and risk limits
Assist in developing risk mitigation strategies for the organization's critical risks and for monitoring these risks
Establish, communicate and facilitate the use of appropriate ERM methodologies, tools and techniques
Work with divisions to establish, maintain and continuously improve risk management capabilities
Facilitate enterprise-wide risk assessments and monitor priority risks across the organization
Maintain Group strategic risk register
Implement appropriate risk reporting to the CEO, Executive Committee, Board and senior management
Ensure effective alignment between the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) process and all assurance providers
Coordinate the development of the annual Group Risk Management Plan based on the principle of combined assurance
Monitor and validate the effectiveness of mitigation activities including independent effectiveness reviews (performed by Internal Audit and external assurance providers).
Assess the impact of residual risk and ensure action plans are developed by management to address gaps
Conduct risk management education and training from time to time.
Manage IRIS scanning dashboard – internal and external.
Manage and summarize OFI's from underwriters reports and Risk Grading Audits (RGA's)
Consolidate and ensure insurer notifications are prompt and accurate.
Manage insurance claim and notification register assisting the business to achieve timely close-out and notification.
