General Manager - George
Our client in the leather manufacturing, design and retail industry is looking for a dynamic, hands‑on and driven general manager to join their team.
The ideal candidate MUST have previous experience within a manufacturing / sales and design within the leather environment.
Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to :
- Responsible for opening and closing of the office and manufacturing areas
- Ensure that all housekeeping and occupational health and safety measures are maintained daily
- Staff management - full understanding and working knowledge of people management skill including LRA / EE / BCEA & OH&S requirements
- IR - management of IR responsibilities and requirements as and when needed
- Staff contracts - managing staff leave, staff wages / salaries, etc.
- Financial Management - full understanding of day‑to‑day financial requirements, interpret and understanding of detailed income and expenditure statement, preparing budgets and managing and implementation thereof
- Managing daily overhead costs - minimize expenditure
- Excellent abilities in sales - to drive, promote, sell and upsell full range of products to maximise sales targets
- Build and cohesive team between manufacturing, administration, sales and retail
- Ensure all manufacturing planning is correct and that sufficient stock / materials are available as and when required
- Stock control - oversight of stock and stock counts - investigate any stock losses and / or other issues
- General maintenance as and when required.
- Ability to deal with clients - build and maintain relationships
- Full all rounds understand of general management duties
POSITION INFO : Qualifications
- Matric
- Business Diploma or degree
- Fully computer literate
- Fluent in English and Afrikaans
- 5 years within a similar environment
- Own reliable vehicle
