Key Responsibilities
Customer Experience
  • Ensure a welcoming, professional, and friendly environment for all guests.
  • Handle guest complaints or issues promptly and professionally.
  • Monitor service quality, presentation and overall guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, ambience and décor in all public areas.
Staff Management
  • Recruit, train and supervise front‑of‑house staff (hosts, servers, bartenders, runners, etc.).
  • Create and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage during peak and off‑peak hours.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate updates, goals and feedback.
  • Coach and motivate staff to achieve performance excellence.
Operations & Administration
  • Oversee daily opening and closing procedures for the front of house.
  • Coordinate with the kitchen and bar teams to ensure smooth service flow.
  • Manage reservations, seating plans and customer wait times effectively.
  • Monitor stock levels of FOH supplies (menus, POS materials, uniforms, etc.) and place orders as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety and hygiene standards.
Financial Control
  • Monitor sales performance and assist in achieving revenue targets.
  • Minimize wastage and manage operating costs within budget.
  • Assist with cash‑up procedures, petty cash control and daily reconciliations.
Team & Culture
  • Promote teamwork and communication between front‑of‑house and back‑of‑house staff.
  • Maintain a positive, respectful and professional work culture.
  • Lead by example with exceptional customer service and work ethic.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Strong leadership and people‑management skills with the ability to train and motivate service staff.
  • Excellent customer service and communication abilities; professional and welcoming demeanour.
  • Highly organised with solid time‑management and multitasking skills.
  • Skilled in handling guest feedback, reservations and service flow under pressure.
  • Sound knowledge of POS systems, cash‑up procedures and basic administration.
  • Strong attention to detail in presentation, cleanliness and overall guest experience.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with kitchen and bar teams for smooth operations.
  • Hospitality or restaurant management qualification advantageous.
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts, weekends and public holidays.
  • Friendly, reliable and passionate about creating a warm, community‑focused dining experience.
Salary

The proposed salary for the role is R8k - R15k per annum. The offer may be marginally negotiable but will be market related in line with your qualifications, skills and experience.
